In order to accelerate enterprise transformation and improve production efficiency, many enterprises have introduced RFID technology to assist production and enhance the level of industrial informatization and intelligence. In warehouse management, AGV cars play the role of intelligent logistics handling, achieving intelligent operations such as outbound, inbound, scheduling, and distribution. They have the characteristics of high automation, safety, and flexibility, solving the problems of long and error prone manual pickup in traditional warehouses. Moreover, AGV cars can work 24/7, freeing workers from tedious labor and greatly improving work efficiency.

Traditional AGV cars are susceptible to interference from surrounding metal materials, have poor maneuverability, and are prone to errors. In order to enable AGV cars to accurately identify goods and have good route navigation capabilities, a combination of RFID technology and AGV magnetic stripe navigation is adopted to greatly improve the maneuverability and performance of AGV cars.

The automatic inspection vehicle path recognition process is as follows:

To ensure that RFID landmark readers can recognize RFID landmark labels to a large extent,

The RFID card reader needs to be installed at the bottom of the car, facing the RFID landmark on the ground track. When the AGV car passes by the RFID landmark, it reads the information on the RFID landmark label.

If encountering metal rail nodes,

Landmarks need to be labeled with anti metal labels, so that they will not be unreadable due to the influence of metal materials.

3. Each RFID landmark tag has its own IP address,

When the AGV car passes by, the RFID tag information is read to obtain the corresponding IP address, which can determine the current location information and complete the positioning recognition of the station. Then, based on the stored information in the RFID tag, the current working status is determined and the next working status (turning, straight, stopping at the end, etc.) is executed.

By laying RFID landmark cards on the magnetic strip navigation track, an RFID landmark sensor is installed on the AGV car. During the AGV car’s movement, the RFID landmark sensor reads the position information from the electronic tag for precise positioning, and then confirms its own position based on the current coordinate information of the tag. It determines whether to stop and unload the goods, or choose to continue moving forward, and uses algorithms to find the optimal path, saving time during transportation. On the track in a forked environment, RFID landmark sensors will also read the information of landmark labels to determine the direction of AGV car turning.

The combination of RFID radio frequency identification technology and AGV vehicle path recognition effectively improves the intelligence level of AGV vehicles, making them more efficient and accurate in warehouse management and logistics handling processes. Through continuous optimization and improvement, RFID technology will continue to play an important role in industrial production, driving enterprises towards intelligence and automation.
