1.1.1 what is NFC

NFC (near field communication) is a short-range wireless communication technology with a working frequency of 13.56MHz and a communication distance of only 0~20cm (most of the actual products are within 10cm). Electronic devices with NFC function can complete information exchange and access to content and services through simple touch.

NFC has three working modes: Card simulation mode, read-write mode and point-to-point communication mode.

(1) Card emulation mode

Electronic devices with NFC function, such as smart phones, are simulated as a contactless smart (IC) card, such as bank cards, bus cards, access control cards, etc. Take the NFC smart phone simulated as a bank card as an example. Users only need to put the mobile phone close to the bank POS machine to complete payment transactions like using a bank card.

(2) Read write mode

Electronic devices with NFC function, such as smart phones, as a card reader, can read and write the contents of IC cards, NFC tags and NFC electronic devices working in card emulation mode. For example, an electronic device working in read-write mode acts as a POS machine, which can read bank card information and complete financial transactions.

(3) Point to point communication mode

Carry out point-to-point communication between two electronic devices with NFC function to complete information exchange. For example, two mobile phones in Android beam complete the exchange of mobile phone contact information or picture information by touching.
